New Broad Street Bazaar Opens Saturday Sept 27,2008
Three Crescent City Craft Mafioso will be participating in the new Broad Street Bazaar! Come check it out
Art by Mags, Green Kangaroo and Bayou Salvage
WHEN: 4th Saturday of every month, 9am-3pm
WHERE: Robert's parking lot, Broad St. @ Bienville
WHAT: Flea market vendors, neighborhood garage sales, artists and crafters who work with recycled materials. Plus: Free Tulane Community Health screenings; recycling station; personal services like braiding, manicures and massage; kids activities; pet adoptions. Featuring: Light Brunch by Ruby Slipper and Live Jazz by neighborhood musicians.
WHY: To help revitalize the historic Broad St. corridor and link to the Bayou Rd. development district, which has a Fresh Market every 4th Saturday.
The market will be professionally managed and maintained, thanks to a community grant from Phoenix Rising and an enthusiastic team of Americorps volunteers. There's plenty of free parking and the market is centrally located, just a stones throw away from the flea hounds and art-lovers who populate Faubourg St. John.
With your help, we can turn an abandoned parking lot (which we're gussying up with banners and murals) into a buzzing hive of community activity every month.
