That's right, art by mags! latest design is a tribute to and partnership with the NOLA Rising gang.
Originally inspired by my desire to contribute to the It's Yours, Take It free art show that happened last Saturday at Cafe Brazil - which was hosted and organized by NOLA Rising - the design has now been picked up by NOLA Rising for its new sticker and t-shirt campaign.
The design features a take-off on the crescent moon and stars from the ever-popular New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board's water meter cover design, atop a trio of propaganda-poster-styled raised fists, representing the indefatigable spirit of the people of New Orleans. The wrists of the raised fists sport NOLA Rising founder ReX's stylized fleur de lis design, tattoo-style, further driving home the spirit of this New Orleans-centric design.
art by mags! will produce the one-of-a-kind spray paint stencil art prints (as seen at right), for sale via the artbymags Etsy shop, and will split any proceeds with NOLA Rising to further their ongoing efforts to spread free art to the New Orleans public.
NOLA Rising is handling the production of stickers and t-shirts. The stickers are being ordered as I type, and t-shirts will be coming soon - I'll be sure to update everyone as soon as they are available.
As always, you can keep up with art by mags! and all my designs and products via my art blog and my website.
